Check Encoders, Strippers, & Endorsers
Check encoders are used to print routing and account information on checks. Encoders are generally grouped into one of two categories: 1) batch encoders that handle larger runs of checks, and 2) exception encoders, which handle much smaller runs. ABM's check encoders are used by banks, credit unions, grocery stores, and utility companies. Encoders are particularly useful at the branch level of a financial institution, where they can be used to assemble new account kits.
Check strippers are used primarily by banks and credit unions to process checks that have been returned or are damaged. Check strippers affix a strip to the check that can be reencoded. Check strippers dramatically reduce the amount of time required to process return items and reduce the frequency of charge back items, which helps the bottom line.
